Our History

Since its inception in 1993, Communication Power Solutions, Inc. (CPS) has dedicated its efforts to providing DC power products and engineering solutions for companies in the telecommunications industry. CPS also offers products, installation, and engineering services to the Railroad, Utilities and Renewable Energy Industries.

1993 –

Created to provide DC power products and engineering solutions for companies in need.

1995 –

Qualified & preferred battery vendor to some of the largest U.S. telecommunication companies’ buying consortium.

1999 –

Won a National contract & expanded to include: Battery Testing, Battery Installation and Removal, DC/DC Converter Shelves, Cellular & Fiber-Optic Site Installation and Commissioning.

2003 –

Provided quick build-out of a Central Office Fiber-Optic facility involving Design, Planning and Installation of: DC Plant, AC Power, Alarming, Fiber Bays, DC Equipment, and Customer CO-Location Cabinets.

2004 –

Effectively decommissioned over 500 cell sites and Central Office switches in three major cities.

2007 –

Received Patent #7,158,370 B2 for close contact DC Disconnects.

2008 –

Won a state contract as a preferred supplier for DC Power and Battery Backup Reserve Systems.

2009 –

Added personnel to include DC Power Installation.

2012 –

1 of 4 Century Link Communications’ DC Power Contractors. Awarded Comcast Cable’s Southwest Preventative Maintenance Contract. Redesigned and Simplified a single footprint DC Power Plant.

2013 –

Statement of Support from National Guard and Reserve for Communication Power Solutions

Completed a 2 year project for C&D warranty service for Century Link. Partnered with EnerSys Batteries. Awarded Zayo contract. Upgraded, Installed, and Recycled all transport equipment from Phoenix AZ to Denver CO within 45 days..

2014 –

Partnered with Omnion Critical Power (Formerly ABB).

2016 –

Awarded Omnion’s (Formerly ABB) Highest Growth for a partner.

2017 –
